Respect Starts At Home!

Wednesday, the kids and I were sitting in front of the school waiting to go to speech. The 2nd graders were at recess, the weather was warm so I opened the windows. As my kids ate their snacks I heard some kid shouting. "We don't want Obama" over and over again for 10 minutes. I couldn't take it anymore, I just had to know who was saying it. It was 3 minutes till speech so we got out and started walking through the school yard. There was a blonde girl, about years old, with her hands held up on either side of her mouth as she walked around shouting, "we don't want Obama."

What the hell? The 4 teachers out there think this is ok?

It was interesting that she was shouting "we" when she was alone and the fact that she hadn't stopped in 15 minutes was annoying. She walked by me doing her shout as I was buzzing in to the school. I couldn't even help myself so as she passed I looked at her and said, "he IS your President!

Normally, I wouldn't have said anything but really what the hell? Why was this appropriate for the school yard. It is bad enough she is learning this garbage at home at such a young age but why was it allowed to go on for so long?

Grrr....

Kids have to learn respect and this starts at home. A child who is taught not to respect other adults, The President or other authority figures is only headed for t-r-o-u-b-l-e.

We did not vote Obama but we are good American's and believe that our children should respect their Country which means respecting their President. I would never want my children marching around chanting such ridiculousness.
