Close Encounters of The Third Grade Kind - Philip Done

In A Nutshell: I love Close Encounters of The Third Grade Kind! I finished it in 1 day and that was over 4 days ago but I have picked it up everyday to re-read portions. If you know how backed up on book reviews and personal picks I am, you would know this is a problem. I laughed, I cried and I chuckled out loud. Mr. Done has totally humanized teachers for me forever. He is the teacher I would wish my children would have in school or at least someone like him.

I think this book shows just how special teachers are and how very serious they take their jobs. I agree with him that parenthood, motherhood, and fatherhood are words. We should also say teacherhood. Teachers are the people who will help shape the people our children will become. I will forever be changed by this funny, inspiring, loving, book by Phillip Done

I implore you to buy or borrow this book and read it. If you buy it, I beg you to pass it on. I will be picking up the first book by Philip Done 32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny: Life Lessons from Teaching. By the way Hachette Book Group has an Open Access to the book, so if you want to know what all the hype is, read it here.
