In A Nutshell:
I refuse to watch my own videos before posting (if I watch, I will never post) so I apologize for any weirdness.
Hilary is amazing as usual! I had to remind myself that it was Hilary, she just become Amelia. Richard Gere and Hilary were amazing. The soft, quiet, gentle relationship that transpires between the two was fun watch. Hilary's Amelia is witty and subdued, smart and intelligent. I loved it!
Amelia just wants to fly. We hear often how she wants to be free and how she is a girl from Kansas who is suddenly thrust into this celebrity position. Watching her try to sell suitcases, clothing and more was sad. Amelia was a "Wonderlust," care free spirit who became the face of feminism. Where would women of today be without someone like Amelia Earhart paving the way?
The movie had a lot of lines that I wrote down in my notes as I watching but one of them that will stay with me talks about "confinement of even an attractive cage" being hard for her. Some people just want to be free. She was like that. She asked that obey be taken out of the marriage vows. Amelia was a strong, women who was comfortable in her own skin and knew what she wanted. Conforming is part of life and it is sad to think that while she was doing what she wanted to do, there was a part of her that still just wanted to be free.
This movie is awesome!
Thanks to an awesome PR person I have 3 copies to giveaway to my readers.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet, but I can't think of two better actor and actress that would be great for this movie. Well, I guess Leonardo and Kate Winslet would have been pretty great.
