Young Adult Books Has Me Losing Sleep - A Book Review

BOOK ONE: The Summoning

BOOK TWO: The Awakening

In A Nutshell: Ahhh...man what can I say? I am going to do the two books as one review. Last Friday I meant to put up The Summoning as soon as I finished but I jumped right into the next book because I was dying to see what was going to happen next.

Chloe is every teen other than the fact she sees ghosts and has been since she was a little girl. When she enters Lyle House it is under the pretense that she is a "troubled teen". Well, there is a lot more to the occupants of Lyle House. All the teens are part of a special project "Project Genesis being done by a group called Edison Group. When a Chloe's roommate Liz is removed from the house the teens are told that they will be able to speak to her in a few days. Only one problem, Liz appears to Chloe! She she dead? Is she in a coma? Lyle House holds many secrets and Chloe and the others may be the key.

What I loved about Kelley's writing is how she weaves her character development. There was no rush in forcing relationships. The relationships made sense throughout the book. I would love to see this done as a movie! This is the first book in a long time that called to me to read it. I would wake at night, just thinking about getting back to reading, longing for the moment I could open remove my book mark and jump into the world of Chloe. Notice the stone on the cover; at the end of book three I am still unsure as to its power and I love it!

BOOK THREE: The Reckoning

Chloe must face her evolving feelings for both an irritable, antisocial werewolf and his charming, sweet-tempered brother—who just happens to be a sorcerer. As if raising the dead wasn't enough.

According to Kelley, this will be the end of Chloe's story. I can't wait to read how it ends. Book Three in 46 Days. I am so there.

  3. I am a teen book addict and have already read these two and can't wait to read three! My niece got me interested in them. I think it was her way of thanking me for getting her interested in the Twilight books before the movies came out :) I would love to see Chloe's story made into a series of movies also!
