Why? Because We Like You, An Oral History Of The Mickey Mouse Club

What I Can Tell You:

Ok, I am totally about to age myself here. I watched reruns of the Mickey Mouse Club when I was a little girl. It started in 1955 and I was born in 1965 and wanted to be Darlene and have a shirt with my name on it. They kids seemed so talented and got to hang out together and hang around Disney and Mickey Mouse. I was so jealous. Then I watched the second batch of The Mickey Mouse Club featuring Lisa Whelchel of the Facts Of Life.

Reading the behind the scenes of the kids and how they got their spot on the Mickey Mouse Club, the jealousy they felt for Annette and her rising star. The way Walt ran the joint and the aftermath of what they did after the Mickey Mouse Club made me wish I had my sister sitting with me reading too so we could discuss it along the way. I spent the day watching You Tube Videos of the original Mouseketeers. Ahhh....good times.

What a fantastic read for fans of the show!

  1. I don't care if it was a marketing ploy, it was still a fun, up, kid strong show.
Sure there were probably dramatics behind the scenes, but they never seemed to over shadow any of the shows the public got to see.
I wish they had a Donald Duck Show, showcasing boys strengths and a Daisy Duck show showcasing girls strenghts.
