Tuesday Takes and Ruby Tuesday - The Birthday Party

We had Handsome's birthday party at McDonalds this past weekend and man did this kid have a good time.

All the kids were climbing up onto this tree and Handsome really wanted to. It would be something I would usually stop by saying, "I don't care what those other kids are doing. That tree is not meant to be climbed on." However, watching him watch them told me it was something he had to do, like a right of passage. So forgetting the Do Not Climb Sign, I didn't say anything as I watched him struggle for 30 mins taking various attempts at getting up there. When he finally did, I grabbed the camera and took a few hundred photos.

You can see the determination, the jubilation and the underlying fear in these but he did it! Sometimes, you have to cut the ropes that bind their wings and let them fly under supervision on their own.
