Hi Maria,
ReplyDeleteYour daughter and her friends are so cute! I was a Brownie and later, a Girl Scout. Those were some fun times.
Have a good Blue Monday.

Looks like you all had so much fun. Girl Scouts is such a great organization for girls to be involved with.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day you guys must have had learning about other countries and eating all that food! If it weren't for having to sell those cookies I would soo sign my daughter up for Scouts lol!
ReplyDeleteHi Renee! As a member and employee of GS, I can tell you that no girl has to sell cookies. It is completely voluntary, though there may well be pressure from a troop leader. If that's the case, talk to a member of your Council to resolve it. There are many ways that can be handled, but your daughter will never be made to participate in something she doesn't want to do. :)
DeleteWe have been doing Thinking Day for much longer than since 1999! I believe it's been observed for most of GS' 101-year history. Great fun, always, and it really is a great message for girls. (I work for GS and have attended countless Thinking Day celebrations...it's one of my favorite GS events!)
ReplyDeleteI love that. We did a similar day when I was in grammar school many years ago. It is a lot of fun :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun event!
ReplyDeleteCatching up with Blue Monday!
Feeling BLUE?
Your comment is always appreciated.
Heather, it was being doing prior than 1999 but was called something besides World Thinking Day. We love it as well. It was so much fun. This was our second year and our girls and I love traveling to the many countries.
ReplyDeletehow fuN! I think things like this are great for kids to teach them about other countries.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to sample all that food! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a fun and educational event!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! The kids look so happy and the food and treats look so yummy. Wish I'd been in the Girl Scouts.

ReplyDeleteEverytime I see a new Girl Scout event I have so much more respect for the organization and the awesome things they teach our girls!
