Life After Art by Matt Appling

 The 411 by Maria:

I love art. My daughter loves art and I hope she always keeps that LOVE of creating going. In Life After Art, Matt writes about rediscovering our childlike love of creating and art. He describes how art programs are usually the first things cut during school budgets and how losing these programs leaves us very unimaginative children.

While I don't think all children are natural artists or love it (I have one who IS and has been since should could hold a crayon and one WHO actually hates it. He finds it very difficult to even draw a stick figure) but I believe that liking art to love and a higher power is genius.

While the book is based in religion, those who don't follow will  not feel preached to. There are biblical quotes but as long as you read with an open mind and an open heart, the message will shine through.

  1. Sounds like a book I'd like to read. As a child, I love drawing and art but haven't done either one of these things for many years. I would love to somehow rediscover my artistic side (if I have one:)
