3 Ft Bean Bag Chair For My Kids To Fight Over
Usually my husband likes to take up the couch and I sit in the chair when we hang in the living room however, there are 4 of us and neither of these pieces are large as they are handed down from my sister-in-law when she was selling her summer home. Soooo this means my kids usually fight over the one bean bag chair we have in the living room. We have talked about getting a large couch, one where we can all sit to watch movies together but finances are tight as usual! Life! Soooo...we bought another bean bag. This one is so much bigger than the other one and is much more comfortable too.
When we received it, it was wrapped up like my last mattress or a rug. I am not even sure how they do this but it was completely wrapped and shipped in a small but tall box.
We took it out of the wrapping and couldn't get it to form a bean bag shape. It was just flat. We fluffed and fluffed with us eventually figuring it would just end up being a large cat bed.
Today (3 days after I opened it) I came home from work and wah-la....the bean bag was a bean bag! Who would have thunk it!? Not me.
We put the cover on which was really easy because it almost completely unzips to fit the bean bag inside. The cover is so soft and microfiber like that it will probably be covered in cat in by the weekend but it says machine washable.
The kids are already fighting over it and we haven't even finished homework.
If you are looking for a large bean bag, I suggest this one!

Everyone Needs A Comfy - We Fight Over It In My House Including The Cats!
The 411:
We are in love with The Comfy! One size fits all and it comes in grey, blue, pink and black. We got it in grey but I can already see I need at least 3 more.
It is beyond comfortable and it took 4 days for me to even be able to try it for this review because my family took it over. My daughter tried it first and told me it was like the biggest, most comfortable pullover she ever wore.
My husband who told me daughter it wasn't a good look put it on and instantly took a nap. It has now become his nap time blanket.
My son wakes in the morning and instantly puts it on. He insists on wearing shorts even though it is only 38 degrees in the morning. He also wears it when he comes home from school and does his homework.
I finally got a chance to read it one morning when I woke earlier than the house. It is beyond comfy. It is extremely soft and the hood is perfect, even acting as a pillow when you lie down.
My daughter thought It looked hysterical but it is the best reading blanket. I don't have to worry about it slipping down and my arm getting cold at night when I sit to spend time with my current book. I am in love with it and think it makes a great gift. I know three people on my list who would love this. I get to check out many products as a blogger but this is one of those that I wish I could just buy for everyone I know so they can see what I mean.
Even my cats get upset when I try to pull it out from underneath them!
Here is Jinxy making biscuits on The Comfy.
And just look how soft it is!
So far we have watched it once and it came out perfect. I put it in the dryer on low for 40 minutes and it came out puffy and perfect!
When I posted on my personal Facebook page everyone wanted to know where you can get it. You can get it on their website but I also saw it at Bed, Bath and Beyond for the same price of $39.99.
Polaner Fruit & Maple Turnovers
The 411:
Polaner Fruit and Maple is an amazing combination of fruit and maple syrup and while we think it is wonderful on toast, waffles, with butter and peanut butter or without; this week we decided to make a dessert!
The Polaner Turnover
Mini Tortillas
Polaner Spreads
Cinnamon and sugar
We spread the Polaner on the Tortillas and placed them with a little bit of butter in a pan until they were golden brown on both sides.
Then we rolled them in a cinnamon and sugar mixer and let them cool for 5 minutes.
They were delicious. My husband enjoyed it hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and my daughter just used whipped cream. Me...I ate mine just as you see them! They were perfect.
Christmas Came Early For This Guy - Five Nights At Freddys Book Collection
Five Nights At Freddy's Book Collection plus poster:
The Five Nights at Freddy's book series by Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley includes books Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes, The Twisted Ones, and The Fourth Closet.
Five Nights At Freddy's is a fictional pizza restaurant where animatronics are out to kill you. In the game you play as the security guard who must survive the night at Freddys. The game has many jump scares as does the books.
If your child loves the game or you are interested in a good read...this is the set for you. Wonderful adaptation of the game and then the poster! My son hung it up in his room before he even opened a book. Definitely a great addition to the franchise.
My son was able to cross this off his Christmas list for this year but it will be on my Holiday Gift Guide coming soon.
Great YA Halloween Read - The Collector by K.R. Alexander
The 411:
I loved everything about this book from the cover to the age appropriate horror. This is the perfect horror start for ages 10-14.
Josie, her mom and her sister are moving in with grandma but grandma has some rules.
Never leave your window open after dark!
No dolls are allowed in the house!
Do not go near the house in the woods!
They seem simple enough but when Josie meets a new friend named Vanessa who gives her sister a doll things start getting weird. Not only that but grandma seems further away than ever and that house in the woods is where Vanessa lives.
Creepy yes but nothing over the top. If I was a kid there is a scene where all the dolls in Vanessa's house are turned toward the wall which would have creeped me out..wait...as an adult that creeped me out but this is because K.R is a really good writer who is very descriptive. I could see the scene playing out.
All in all...I think kids who love this genre will enjoy this book.
Someone please make this a movie!
My Life In Photos - October 21st - October 27th -
October 21 - Our favorite dinner! Fried Eggplant. My daughter did the breading and I did the frying. There is no better way to eat eggplant than when you make it with love.
October 22 - She didn't want her photo taken but I loved her outfit. It was the start of Red Ribbon Week and she looked great. Teens! UGH!
October 23 - My son uses The Comfy every morning when he wakes. It has been cold in the morning and he is smart.
October 24 - Someone didn't believe that the cat sleeps with her so I had to snap this photo to show her that the cats love her too!
October 25 - Mr. Jinxy is doing well since his stitches came out. He was making biscuits on The Comfy and I was trying to pull it out from under him. As you can see, he didn't like it one bit.
October 26 - Trying to show how our new beanbag came in the mail. It was wrapped interestingly and we are still trying to make it an actual beanbag. It is a bit flat. She laid down and said, take me next to it for size comparison.
October 27 -Still waiting for the beanbag to take shape but Luna loves it! She has slept on it for 12 hours today.

My Life In Pictures - October 14 - October 20
October 14 - This is Owen! Isn't he beautiful. He has since been adopted. Of course. Look at that face. As a shelter volunteer we fall in love with so many cats. Owen is a really sweet boy and I am so happy he has a home.
October 15 - So fun! This candy was amazing. I love PopRocks and this was even better.
October 16 - Out for tacos with a good friend. I really owe her. She is so good to me. Not much older than me but very motherly. Exactly what my motherless daughter heart needs.
October 17 - This boy is so excited over the Five Nights at Freddy's book pack
October 18 - Do you see that little hole on the lower right side in the blue part of the house. This little cat heard us talking and walking and came out of that hole to say hi. It was such a beautiful cat. We make friends no matter where we go. Goddess and I spent the day together because she had a half day. It was gorgeous weather so we headed to Sugar Loaf
October 19 - My girl went to her first school dance. She didn't love it but managed to have a decent time. I laughed at all the SOS text messages she sent. She didn't love the music feeling as though some of it inappropriate. I love that she went even though she wasn't totally comfortable. I picked up her friend so she would have someone to walk in with instead of meeting there. They are adorable and know each other since preschool.
October 20 - We did merchant Trick or Treating with some of Goddess friends. I love that we live in a small town were you can walk down the street and know practically everyone. Bet you don't know who Goddess is.

Unplugged Creative Play - The Half Acre Field - Created In Ireland
The 411:
The Field is a fun concept. Anytime kids are offline and playing with their imagination I am happy.
We loved the idea of the field. The grass, hedges, tractor and animals were really cool. It was even nice to see the Certificate of Title for ownership of your property. We love that you can add to the field your own toys or use the pieces included.
My preschool class loved playing with the field and I love that it was all contained. It is pretty sturdy and we used other toys in the field. Our classroom Little People were often in the field with the tractor which is so cute to me. I wish I could share photos of them.
The only downside for me is that the animals don't stay standing. I wish there was a flat piece under the animals to keep them steady. Even as the teacher in the class I couldn't get the animals to stand up and why I usually took out the sturdier pieces we play with in class.
What I noticed is that my kids took turns playing and setting them up. They also liked using the tractor and manipulating the fences in different configurations. The age on the box says 3+ and while my class are 2-3 they thoroughly enjoyed it but even for a 3 year old there is frustration when your fence or animals keep falling down.
The Pros:
Great toy for creative play
Different that what is out there
Fun grass and hedges. The kids love the texture
Perfect for perfecting those fine motor skills
Decent price for this toy
The Cons:
The animals and fences kept falling over
The size comparisons. I would have liked a more realistic size comparison from dog to cow and fences to animals.

It's Out! Remember The Saturday Morning Cartoons When We Were Kids? They Are All In One Book! 1960s-1990s
The 411:
Who doesn't remember waking on a Saturday when you were a kid and spending the morning watching cartoons with your siblings? It was one of my favorite things about my childhood. We would lie in the living room and watch The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Pink Panther, Yogi Bear, Bugs Bunny and so many others. There was nothing like it. It was a time that I am so glad I grew up in. There was no You Tube, smartphones, iPads, computers, game systems we all watched the same thing. We sang the theme song, laughed, talked and played. It was a wonderful time to grow up and I get nostalgic even now when I fall upon on of my favorite childhood cartoons.
It's Saturday Morning celebrates the golden age of cartoons and about how the characters were created, how long the show was on air, how many episodes, and who voiced the characters as well as really cool information like...did you know that The Jetsons was the first series to air on ABC in color? No? Me either how cool is that?! Oh and Scooby Doo...he got his name because of Frank Sinatra. And..Josie and the Pussycats were way ahead of their time. As the first cartoon presenting females as lead characters who fought crime "They weren't anyone's Angels. They did their own thing".
It really is a special book and would be a great gift to anyone but especially your siblings who will undoubtedly remember all the times you fought over which show to watch (There weren't many but sometimes...you needed to choose.
