That’s right. The father of extreme sports, the daredevil show man himself—the man, the myth, the legend, Evel Knievel has launched onto the toy scene again with the re-release of the iconic 1970’s Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle.
Imbued with all the charm and high-powered performance of the original, this reissue is ready to introduce the fun of revving, jumping, and crash landing to a whole new generation.
As a kid I wanted on of these so bad, it was so cool and it seemed like all my friends brothers had one but I didn’t have a brother and only got to play with it twice. That has changed. It came in the mail, the next day we opened it up and have played with it every day for 5 straight days. Even on Thanksgiving I was in my street, kneeling down while my daughter yelled “car” and energizing Evel Knievel so his motorcycle could go as far as it could go.
My daughter and I have taken turns and played for hours. When it rained today we sat on the bed, watching the cat chase Evel off the bed. I love anything that gets the kids unplugged but even I have been unplugged for days and that is a good thing.
One of the best things about this toy is that it takes no batteries to make it work, simply pull the bike back into the red holder, crank it to energize the wheel and let it go. You can even set up ramps for true action jumps.
Evel Knievel is posable and can sit on the bike, so a hand stand or stand up. The only problem we had was his helmet flying off mid jump. It is truly one of the coolest toys and I highly recommend putting on your child’s list or even your own. My neighbor was walking his dog while we were playing it and he stopped asking “is that Evel Knievel?” We told him it was back on store shelves and he was like “that is so cool. I had one.”
