This film/documentary Knots: A Forced Marriage is about 3 different woman all telling their stories. All were forced into marriage at a young age and their tales are damaging, horrifying, and life altering. The fact that this goes on even today is nauseating and it appalls me that many times they are forced by their very own families into loveless, lifeless marriages that they don't want and are not maturely ready for.
All their stories are woven brilliantly and with as much cuth as possible. Whether because of religion or cultural the stories are true and compelling.
I find myself thinking about these brave woman who got out and all the women who are still trapped. What kind of people willingly sign their underage daughters over to predatory, lecherous men?
