Working with kids all day you are bound to pick up someone's sickness. Last week I was cold for two days and feeling ill. After taking some tea and getting under my covers after work I remembered something I used to take when I was feeling sick.
Here's the little remedy I use that might just help you too:
Jack Daniel's - Now, I know what you're thinking, "Alcohol when sick?" But a small amount can help you relax, which is crucial when your body is fighting off illness. It can also help you sleep better, and we all know how important rest is when you're not well. Just remember, moderation is key because too much can dehydrate you, and we want to keep you hydrated. I am not someone who drinks alcohol but it's only a shot.
Lemon - This little sunshine fruit is packed with vitamin C, which is great for boosting your immune system. It's also known to help break up mucus, which can ease congestion. Plus, the tartness can soothe a sore throat, making each swallow a bit less painful.
Honey - Oh, this sweet nectar isn't just for tea. Honey has natural antibacterial properties and can coat your throat, providing relief from that scratchy, irritating feeling. It's also a natural cough suppressant. And, let's not forget, it makes this concoction taste so much better!
Mix these together, and you've got a remedy that's not just about healing but also about bringing a little warmth and comfort to your day. It's like a hug in a glass. But please, love, take it easy with the Jack Daniel's - this isn't about getting tipsy but about feeling better.
Take small sips, let the warmth spread through you, and imagine me there, wrapping you in a blanket with all my love LOL.
